Privacy Policy

Last Updated: July 21, 2016

Protecting your privacy is really important to us. So, we’re providing this Privacy Policy to explain what we do with the information we collect when you use our Services available via the JBF Sports team club applications and messenger application. Just so you know, this Privacy Policy does not apply to any third-party websites, services or applications, even if they are accessible through our Services. We do our very best to ensure that any other sites you can access from Mazu’s Services share our value of safety for your family. Any information that we collect will be in accordance with the privacy policy in effect at the time that Information is collected. From time to time we may change this Privacy Policy. If we make any changes to this Privacy Policy that will impact you, we’ll notify you of those changes by posting them on our services or by sending you an email or other notification, and we’ll indicate when those changes will become effective. Also, please note that, unless we define a term in this Privacy Policy, all capitalized words used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in the Terms of Service for the applicable Mazu App you are using (which is an important thing to read but a little more complicated).

Revisions to this Privacy Policy

Any information that is collected via our Services is covered by the Privacy Policy in effect at the time such information is collected. We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make any material changes to this Privacy Policy, we’ll notify you of those changes by posting them on the Services or by sending you an email or other notification, and we’ll update the “Last Updated Date” above to indicate when those changes will become effective.

How do we collect and use information?

The main reason we collect information is to provide and make our Services better, provide you access to our services by ensuring you’re the right person to be using the account you’re using, and to enable you to enjoy and easily find your way around our services (of course, by services we mean any products associated with JBF and Mazu).

Account Information

If you create an Account, we’ll collect some personally identifiable information (known as PII), such as username, nickname, and Guardian’s email address. As described below under the Section entitled “Children’s Privacy”, we may collect PII about children in certain circumstances.

Persistent Identifiers

We collect certain information from Users, including children, to better understand how Users use our Services and to improve our Services. In the event we collect (or allow others to collect) such information from children who use our Services, we will notify Guardians and obtain consent prior to such collection.

Information Collected Using Cookies and other Web Technologies.

Like many website owners, we use automated data collection tools such as Cookies and Web Beacons to collect certain information. “Cookies” are small text files that are placed on your hard drive by a Web Server when you access our Services. We may use both session Cookies and persistent Cookies to identify that you’ve logged in to the Services and to tell us how and when you interact with our Services. We may also use Cookies to monitor aggregate usage and web traffic routing on our Services and to customize and improve our Services. Unlike persistent Cookies, session Cookies are deleted when you log off from the Services and close your browser. Although most browsers automatically accept Cookies, you can change your browser options to stop automatically accepting Cookies or to prompt you before accepting Cookies. Please note, however, that if you don’t accept Cookies, you may not be able to access all portions or features of the Services. Some third-party services providers that we engage may also place their own Cookies on your hard drive. Note that this Privacy Policy covers only our use of Cookies and does not include use of Cookies by such third parties. “Web Beacons” (also known as clear gifs) are tiny graphics with a unique identifier that may be include on our Services for several purposes, including to deliver or communicate with Cookies, to track and measure the performance of our Services and to monitor how many visitors view our Services. Unlike Cookies, which are stored on the user’s hard drive, Web Beacons are typically embedded invisibly on web pages.

Information Related to Use of the Services.

Our servers automatically record certain information about how a person uses our Services (we refer to this information as “Log Data”), including both Account holders and Non-Account holders (either a “User”). Log Data may include information such as a User’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type, operating system, the web page that a User was visiting before accessing our Services, the pages or features of our Services to which a User browsed and the time spent on those pages or features, search terms, the links on our Services that a User clicked on and other statistics.. We use this information to administer the Services and we analyze this information to improve and enhance the Services by expanding their features and functionality and tailoring them to our Users’ needs and preferences. We also use the IP Address to generate aggregate, non-identifying information about how our Services are used. If purchases are made either in-App or via the marketplace functionality of the Services, we will store the history of such purchases made.

Information Sent by Your Mobile Device.

We collect certain information that your mobile device sends when you use our services, like a device identifier, user settings, the operating system, as well as information about your use of our Services via our App.

Location Information.

In some cases we collect and store information about where you are located, such as by converting your IP address into a rough geolocation. We may use location information to improve and personalize our Services for you. If you do not want us to collect location information, you may disable that feature on your mobile device.

What Information Do We Share With Third Parties

We will not share any PII associated with your Account except as described below:

Information Shared with Our Service Providers

We may use third party service providers to work with us to give you the best experience and usage of the Services, for example, we use a great filter and moderation tool provided by Two-Hat Security to ensure any user communication in our services is safe and appropriate. These third-party service providers have access to PII only for the purpose of performing services on our behalf and are expressly obligated not to share that information with anyone.

We work with Google Analytics and MixPanel to better understand the uses of our Services. For more information you can read Google Analytics’ Privacy Policy here http://www.google.com/policies/privacy. For more information you can read MixPanel’s Privacy Policy here https://mixpanel.com/privacy/. We also work with moderation company Two-Hat Security. For more information about how Two-Hat works with us, please see the “Interaction with Other Users of the Services” section below.

Information Disclosed in Connection with Business Transactions

Information that we collect from our users, including PII, is considered to be a business asset. As a result, if we go out of business or enter bankruptcy, or if we are acquired as a result of a transaction such as a merger, acquisition or asset sale, PII may be disclosed or transferred to the third-party acquirer in connection with the transaction.

Information Disclosed for Our Protection and the Protection of Others

We cooperate with government and law enforcement officials or private parties to enforce and comply with the law. We may disclose any information about you to government or law enforcement officials or private parties as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate: (i) to respond to claims, legal process (including subpoenas) and DMCA notices, as stated in our Copyright Policy; (ii) to protect our property, rights and safety and the property, rights and safety of a third party (including intellectual property rights) or the public in general; and (iii) to stop any activity that we consider illegal, unethical or legally actionable activity.

Information We Disclose at Your Request

If you choose to opt in to receive promotional emails from a particular partner, we will share your email address with the particular sports team Partner at your express request.

The Security of Your Information

Your privacy is of utmost importance to us and we take reasonable measures to protect the information that we collect from or about you (including PII) from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. When you enter sensitive information on our forms, we encrypt this data using SSL or other technologies. Please be aware, however, that no method of transmitting information over the Internet or storing information is completely secure. Accordingly, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of any information.

Links to Other Sites

Our Services may contain links to other websites and services. Any information that you provide on or to a third-party website or service is provided directly to the owner of the website or service and is subject to that party’s privacy policy. Our Privacy Policy does not apply to such websites or services and we’re not responsible for the content, privacy or security practices and policies of those websites or services. To protect your information we recommend that you carefully review the privacy policies of other websites and services that you access.

Responding to Do Not Track Signals

Our Services do not have the capability to respond to “Do Not Track” signals received from various web browsers.

Your Choices

We offer you choices regarding the collection, use and sharing of your PII and we’ll respect the choices you make. Please note that if you decide not to provide us with the PII that we request, you may not be able to access all of the features of the Services.

Opt-Out.

We may periodically send you free newsletters and e-mails that directly promote our Services. When you receive such promotional communications from us, you will have the opportunity to “opt-out” (either through your Account, by contacting our support team at justask@mazufamily.com, or by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in the e-mail you receive). We do need to send you certain communications regarding the Services and you will not be able to opt out of those communications – e.g., communications regarding updates to our Terms of Service or this Privacy Policy or information about billing.

Modifying Your Information

You can access and modify the PII associated with your Account in your Account settings. If you want to delete your Account and any personally identifiable information we’ve collected from you, a Guardian can log into the Guardian account and can delete this information in your Account settings or contact our support team at justask@mazufamily.com. We’ll take steps to delete your information in a reasonable amount of time, but some information may remain in archived/backup copies for our records or as otherwise required by law.

International Transfer

PII may be transferred to, and maintained on, computers located outside of your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the privacy laws may not be as protective as those in your jurisdiction. If you’re located outside the United States and choose to provide PII to us, we may transfer such PII to the United States and process it there.

Children’s Privacy

Our Services offer a range of features which are targeted at children specifically and others which are for children and grownups alike. Consequently, we do collect information, including first name, username, and Guardian’s email address, from children, when children use certain features. However, we will not collect PII from children without obtaining appropriate consent from Guardians, in compliance with the United States’ Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”). When we collect PII from a child, we won’t keep that PII for longer than is reasonably necessary for us to provide requested services or features to the child or as required by law. If we ever discover we have collected PII from a child in a manner inconsistent with COPPA, we will immediately delete that information.

Children’s Accounts

Children do not have stand-alone accounts on our Services. A child’s identity is created by Guardians and is expressly tied to his or her Guardian’s Account.

Choices and Controls for Guardians

At any time, Guardians can refuse to permit us to collect additional PII from their children. Guardians can also, at any time, request that we delete PII about their children from our records. Please remember that we may have to delete your Account and that of your Household Members, if you request that we delete PII associated with that Account.

Interaction with Other Users of the Services

In some instances, Users, including children, will be able to communicate and interact with other Users of the Services, via the Services. We use certain filtering technology which is intended to prevent the exchange of PII and other words and phrases that are not age appropriate for children. We also work with moderation company Two-Hat Security to help ensure the communication between users remains positive, age appropriate and safe. Two-Hat is prohibited from sharing your data. For more information about how Two-Hat works with us to keep our communities safe, please email us at justask@mazufamily.com. We also recommend Guardians carefully supervise their children when the children participate in such interactive activities and strongly advise children not to ever communicate any PII about themselves in such interactions.

Promotions

We may run sweepstakes, contests and other promotions and in these instances we will only collect information from children as is necessary to participate – e.g. Family Member nickname and corresponding Guardian email address. We will contact the Guardian in order to fulfill a prize.

California residents may request and obtain from us, once a year, free of charge, a list of third parties, if any, to which we disclosed their PII for direct marketing purposes during the preceding calendar year and the categories of PII shared with those third parties. If you are a California resident and wish to obtain that information, please submit your request by sending us an email at justask@mazufamily.com with “California Privacy Rights” in the subject line or by writing to us at #202 1353 Ellis St, Kelowna, BC V1Y 1Z9, Canada.
